PS4 free games news: Sony celebrates anniversary with amazing FREE PlayStation gift

As a special anniversary gift to God of War fans, Sony is giving PS4 owners an wonderful new dynamic theme for free.

Additionally, starting Wednesday 17th April, players can also download a free set of PS4 avatars, seen above.

There are two thank you gifts for PS4 owners to look forward to.

The original post by Cory Barlog, Sony Santa Monica Studios Director, featured a celebratory one year anniversary package that contained a video, free theme and some avatars for users.

"I'm very happy to indulge you with a small token of our appreciation".

Nazem Kadri And Mike Babcock's Future In Doubt?
I just got a little too comfortable, made a pass to the middle and just didn't expect Muzzin to step up and hit me. Skill is a wonderful thing; will is more important at this time of year and determination".

"They'll both be free at PlayStation Store (search God of War), whether you own the game or not".

"Yet, change is hard".

The theme itself is available to download, for free, right now from the PlayStation store, and depicts everyone's favourite God slayer Kratos and his precocious young son Atreus rowing across the wonderfully serene Lake of Nine - the imposing mountains and Jörmungandr, the colossal World Serpent, easily visible in the background.

Thanking fans for the game's success, Sony Santa Monica said that the creation of the reimagined God of War was a big risk for the studio. "We made this journey together". If I had to predict the next 20 years of Santa Monica Studio, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to create games whose art reflects life, life reflects art, with stories we want to resonate for years to come. God of War also beat out industry giant Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 at this year's Game Awards, taking home 2019's Game of the Year award.
