Pelosi asks police to protect Ilhan Omar after Trump attack

Speaking to Anadolu Agency Sunday on the sidelines of an Islamophobia conference at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Ahmed Bedier, leader of United Voices of America, said that it was "very risky and irresponsible" for the U.S. President Donald Trump to spread misinformation about Congresswoman Omar.

Earlier this month, federal prosecutors charged a man with threatening to assault and murder Omar.

The poster read: 'Never forget you said, ' next to an image of the burning World Trade Center, followed by an image of Omar, with the caption: 'I am the proof you have forgotten'. She won't back down to Trump's racism and hate, and neither will we. However, the Samoan-born politician has been vilified by racists ever since her successful 2016 campaign for a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Omar has been at the center of an escalating row after a clip emerged of her characterizing the deadliest attack on USA soil as "some people did something". "I said to them: "Anything you're about, I got that sign in my basement 20 years ago", Pelosi said.

There has been a sustained attempt by mainstream members of the Democratic Party to sideline Omar and turn her into a persona non grata within the establishment and among Americans at large.

In relation to her identity as a female Muslim, Ms Omar did once state, "I am America's hope and the president's nightmare". She continues to make anti-Semitic comments over and over again, and Democrats refuse to call her out for it. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Saturday criticized the president for using the "sacred" memory of 9/11 for a political attack.

Soon after Pelosi's statement, the video disappeared as a pinned tweet at the top of Trump's Twitter feed, but it was not deleted. "But to use the office of the president as an attack vehicle. for his market, it seems to have worked". The short video in the tweet has been viewed nearly 10 million times.

Russell Wilson rumors: 5 teams that should trade for him
Per a league source, the Seahawks think that Wilson would like to play elsewhere, even if he hasn't and wouldn't ever say it. Realistically, the Broncos would have to give up multiple first-round draft picks, as well as a high-profile player.

"This is endangering lives", Ms Omar said, accusing the president of baiting right-wing extremism. "It has to stop". Her youth and global celebrity has also given critics doubt.

"Here's the truth", Ms Omar stated in the Cair speech on 23 March.

Rep. Ilhan Omar: "Far too long, we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen".

The civil rights group was in fact founded in 1994 but grew significantly after 2001.

Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) showed he has a massive double standard in how he judges the behavior of those on the political Right vs. the political Left when he defended Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Monday night during a Fox News town hall, claiming that her criticisms of Israel's government are not anti-Semitic. Her remarks about the power of the pro-Israel lobby in the United States, combined with her role in a progressive contingent of freshman House Democrats who have sparked intraparty battles, have been treated as a gift by Republicans.

She apologised for suggesting that politicians support Israel for pay and said she is not criticising Jews.

Furthermore, this certainly isn't the first time a politician has used strangely casual language about the 9/11 attacks. "I am Jewish. My father's family was devastated by Hitler...."
