Irael Folau of the Waratahs looks on during the round 8 Super Rugby match between the Blues and Waratahs at Eden Park

"If that's not to continue on playing, so be it", Folau said.

Folau has been all but ever-present in the Wallabies number 15 shirt since switching to rugby union from Australian Rules in 2013, and his absence would be a massive blow to Cheika at this year's Rugby World Cup in Japan. I'll stand on what the Bible says.

If Folau chooses to fight the breach notice he will be forced to front a Code of Conduct hearing to give his defence.

In a post on Instagram last week, the 30-year-old warned drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators, that hell awaits them.

"Following the events of a year ago, Israel was warned formally and repeatedly about the expectations of him as player for the Wallabies and NSW Waratahs with regards to social media use and he has failed to meet those obligations", RA boss Raelene Castle said.

Rugby Australia chief executive, Raelene Castle said Folau had failed to meet his obligations.

Asked if he would still be comfortable taking the field alongside him, Hooper replied: "Like was said before, in this current state and being here and talking about this as a rugby player, it makes it hard, it makes it difficult".

Earlier, Wallabies coach Michael Cheika said he would not be able to pick Folau again due to the full-back's "disrespectful" social media posts.

33 in a row! Winx retires a legend
Chris Waller said it was an awesome experience to see so many people turn out for her farewell race. As well as finishes her career with 33 consecutive wins, Winx bows out with 25 Group One triumphs.

Cheika conceded Folau had crossed a line that was marked when he made similar tweets a year ago.

"Getting out in that disrespectful manner publicly is not what our team's about", Cheika said on Monday. Everyone that's out there supporting us. We want everyone to feel safe and welcome in our game and no vilification based on race, gender, religion or sexuality is acceptable and no language that isolates, divides or insults people based on any of those factors can be tolerated. "We want everyone there fighting with us and standing with us".

The fallout has been felt in the northern hemisphere after England number eight Billy Vunipola offered support for his view on his own Instagram account, resulting in showdown talks with Twickenham. I'm sure I will in the future at some stage when it settles down for him a little bit.

'First and foremost, I live for God now. "If that's not to continue on playing, so be it", he said.

'In saying that, obviously I love playing footy and if it goes down that path I'll definitely miss it.

Now, after initially indicating they would move to terminate Folau's contract, Rugby Australia have taken the next step. But my faith in Jesus Christ is what comes first, ' he said.

Clubs in Europe will also be wary of signing a player who comes with considerable baggage and even Toulon have rejected the possibly of offering an escape route.
