The Brexit Party: UKIP but without the far-right, claims Nigel Farage

Mr Farage's explosive intervention comes a day after Jacob Rees-Mogg's sister Annunziata, was the party's first star MEP candidate - after she quit the Tories after 35 years.

Speaking at the launch, Ms Rees-Mogg said: "I'm here today in sadness".

Farage, a current Member of the European Parliament and former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), was one of the leading lights of the campaign for the UK to leave the European Union before the divisive referendum. May says she still hopes for Brexit to occur before May 23, the date of Europe's parliamentary elections.

UKIP did struggle to get enough good people into it but unfortunately what it's chosen to do is allow the far right to join it and effectively take it over and I'm afraid the brand is now tarnished.

However, the risk for Brexiteers is that Farage's new party will split the hard Brexit vote.

"In some ways I can scarcely believe I'm doing this".

Mr Farage then declared war on the the EU, adding the May European elections were "just the beginning" before pledging to fix the UK's broken political system.

The wicketkeeper-batsman went on to play until the 19th over and notched 81 runs from 52 balls with six boundaries and four sixes. Rahane, in fact, outscored Jos Buttler before his dismissal, after he survived an LBW call with the use of DRS.

Annunziata Rees-Mogg, 40, told the party's launch in Coventry that she had been a Tory since 1984 when, too young for the Young Conservatives, she had managed to sign up to the party itself.

He also promised that the Brexit Party would contest general elections and by-elections.

"In terms of policy, there's no difference, but in terms of personnel there is a vast difference", he told the Today programme.

Annunziata Rees-Mogg - sister of Jacob - was revealed as one of the party's EU Parliament election candidates.

In December, he left the party entirely, saying it had become increasingly open to far-right, racist and Islamophobic views under its current leader Gerard Batten.

Mr Farage said he would stand for his new Brexit Party in the European Parliament elections next month.

"I'm sorry she's supporting the new Brexit Party and not the Tories but family always comes above politics and I think always should". He said: "I find myself standing here today in my sixth European election campaign".
