John Calipari admits he underestimated Zion Williamson

Williamson, who could be inline for a historic sneaker deal, had already been named ACC Player and Rookie of the Year, in addition to winning the Wayman Tisdale Award as the nation's top freshman.

"We recruited Zion. I probably missed him a little bit", Calipari said Friday on The Dan Patrick Show. "I hope you get with the right team, because you're going to be a tremendous star [in] the National Basketball Association". "I knew he could dominate, but not like he's done".

Given the fact that James inked his rookie shoe deal with Nike over 15 years ago, it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect Williamson to command a much higher price.

Calipari had a front-row seat for Williamson's college debut in November, when the SC native finished with 28 points and seven rebounds in Duke's 118-84 win over Kentucky.

Study challenges health benefits of moderate drinking
The researchers used data from 160,000 Chinese adults over ten years but claim the findings are relevant to all populations. That study found that the health risks start off small with one drink a day, but the "rise rapidly" as people drink more.

While Duke is a Nike school and Nike would actually help design custom shoes for Williamson, the incident leaves a slight blemish on the resume of the basketball world's biggest shoe company and keeps the door open for debate as far as where Zion will land. "I knew he'd be good. but the kid's off the chain".

Zion Williamson was the No. 5 ranked recruit in the country. Herro had decommitted from Wisconsin and quickly had become a Kentucky priority, so Calipari and assistant coach Kenny Payne went to see Herro, while assistant coach Joel Justus went to see Williamson. With Williamson in the lineup, Duke went 29-3, but the Blue Devils couldn't get past the Spartans last Sunday.

"I was comfortable with it because you don't really have a choice", Williamson said. "So you just got to move on". "The word came back that that was the case with Tyler".
