In 2010, Hussle, 33, whose birth name was Ermias Davidson Asghedom, according to IMDb.com, founded the record label All Money In, which he debuted with the release of "The Marathon", the rapper's fifth official mixtape.

The LAPD also spoke about the incident on Twitter writing, "Our men and woman are on scene and making every effort to protect everyone in attendance at the Nipsey Hussle vigil".

Drake paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle during the opening night of his London residency at The O2 arena on Monday evening, April 1, 2019. Two suffered critical injuries, and two more were hurt seriously.

According to reports, nineteen people were taken to local hospitals following stampedes breaking out at the vigil.

Everyone in the area was asked to leave immediately.

The identification of the suspect comes as 19 people were transported to the hospital, two critically injured, after fears of another shooting caused the hundreds gathered for a vigil for Hussle to flee the area, Los Angeles Fires Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

Police urged the public to help locate the suspect, who is believed to have shot Hussle on Sunday afternoon in the 3400 block of West Slauson Avenue.

Earlier in the day, an autopsy was performed, which determined that Nipsey died of gunshot wounds to the head and torso. No motive for the killing has been disclosed by police.

Seconds later, Hussle could be seen dropping to the ground while multiple men fled the scene as the gunfire rang out. They only said they were searching for a black male gunman.

He grew up near gangs in the Los Angeles streets, and it reverberated in his music.

The Los Angeles Times cited law enforcement sources who said Holder was an acquaintance of Hussle and they had gotten into a dispute before the shooting.

Hussle, who joined the gang Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips as a teenager, had planned to meet with Moore and the city's police commission president on Monday to discuss preventing gang violence.

In February, he opened Vector 90, a community center and co-working space and STEM center in Crenshaw.

Nipsey Hussle was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2018 following the release of his first studio album "Victory Lap".
