Lisey's Story: Julianne Moore Starring, Stephen King Writing Scripts

Apple has given a straight-to-series order to Lisey's Story, an eight-hour limited series written and executive produced by Stephen King and starring Oscar victor Julianne Moore.

TV Guide has learned that the latest A-Lister to head to the streaming service is Academy Award victor Julianne Moore. It is also worth nothing that King will be writing all eight episodes.

The series follows Lisey (Moore) two years following the death of her husband. It'll explore a series of events that causes her to begin facing fantastic realities about her husband that she had repressed and forgotten.

This is just the latest screen adaptation of a King novel.

Chicago baby shower shooting leaves 6 injured, including 2 children
The 19-year-old man died at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn; the 22-year-old man was not seriously wounded. Two men in dark clothing approached the family gathering and opened fire before fleeing on foot, police said.

The series marks Apple's third project from Abrams and Bad Robot Productions, following straight-to-series orders for "Little Voice," executive produced by Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson, and "My Glory Was I Had Such Friends," starring and executive produced by Jennifer Garner, from writer and executive producer Karen Croner. Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams and another executive of Bad Robot, Ben Stephenson, are also executive producers on the show.

Despite the fact that his work is now en vogue in Hollywood again, King hasn't written an episode of television since that CBS series Under the Dome; having him write all eight episodes of this story - especially such a seemingly personal one - ensures that if nothing else, at least this show should be an interesting peek into his mind.

For Moore, the show is notable because it's the first time she's playing a lead role on a TV show after multiple decades working in film, though she did win a Daytime Emmy for her recurring role on As The World Turns.

Are you excited for Moore and King's TV partnership?
