Sources close to PRIDE have confirmed Disney is developing a Love, Simon television series for its forthcoming streaming app, Disney+.

In the series remake, life is complicated for 17-year-old Simon who hasn't told his family or friends he's gay, and doesn't know the identity of the anonymous classmate he's fallen for online.

Throughout the book, Leah grapples with friends and relationships, going to college, and being in a rock band.

Love, Simon screenwriters Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker will serve as co-showrunners on the series (they will also continue to serve in that capacity on This Is Us). While a casting call has been announced, it's still unclear if the original cast is returning for a continuation of the movie or if we're getting a fresh reboot.

But, while they allow posts from others' depending on the privacy settings, even the legacy contact can't log in or read messages. Friends and family members will be able to write posts and share photos in this section to remember their loved one.

The Disney+ project will be based on Becky Albertalli's 2018 novel Leah on the Offbeat, which served as her sequel to the 2015 book Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (on which Love, Simon was based).

Disney+ is set to launch on November 12 and will be including all of Disney's movies and TV shows as well as Fox created content, all released after Disney bought the network.

Distributed by 20th Century Fox, the film was produced by Fox 2000 Pictures, Temple Hill Productions and TSG Entertainment.

There was a lot of anticipation leading up to Love, Simon - the first same-sex romantic teen comedy from a major film studio.
