Magic Johnson cites Westbrook as he shockingly resigns from the Lakers

After his bombshell announcement immediately resigning as president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers, Magic Johnson spoke with ESPN's Rachel Nichols afterward to explain his decision a bit further.

Thompson views Myers as a fit for the Lakers because of his ability to manage talent and drama.

"I couldn't even tweet it out to say, 'Hey, congratulations.' If I had did that, everyone would have said, 'He's tampering.' I don't like that". You know, and so, when Ben Simmons called and we went through the proper channels and they made me look the bad guy out of that situation. "I want to go back to who I was before taking on this job".

"I think Bob Myers is a name that will come up", said Zach Lowe on The Lowe Post. He was obviously close to Johnson, who met with him at midnight when free agency opened last summer to seal the deal that brought James to Los Angeles, but for now, Johnson's departure doesn't mean anything for James' long-term plans with the franchise.

Although Bryant has stated multiple times that he doesn't want to work in basketball operations, there is also the Lakers myth-making that cast him as the mastermind behind Jeanie Buss finally deciding to fire her brother Jim.

With strong demand, Aramco told investors it expects to pay about 1.25 percentage points more than U.S. Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan are joint global coordinators.

He suggested that fans and Hollywood executives were unhappy with James' commitment throughout the year. "Hopefully just a few more weeks and then I can go out there". "I'm happy about the direction [the team is going in]". "This is a good day".

Johnson was named the president of the Lakers in February 2017.

Going into Tuesday's game, the Lakers held a 37-44 record on the season.

Ball finished the season averaging 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 47 appearances.

The Lakers have won 16 National Basketball Association championships, second only to the archrival Boston Celtics, but have not made the playoffs since 2013.
