Mark Hamill to voice Chucky Doll in Child’s Play reboot

Of course, if you know anything about the Child's Play franchise, you should be able to guess that was followed by a lot of carnage as Chucky tried to kill the mom and her son.

But Mark Hamill will take his turn as a more sinister toy in the upcoming remake of Child's Play. That question has been answered and it's none other than Hamill. The news was announced at Orion's pane presentation today at WonderCon, in Anaheim. The man himself made the announcement over social media. Fans bellowed their excitement when Hamill appeared on overhead video screens in a taped greeting. Here's what he had to say in the video. The man behind Luke Skywalker, Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, and a long list of other heroes and villains has found his next role as the murderous Chucky doll in the remake of the horror film Child's Play. "I can't wait to bring such an iconic character to life, and present him in a way you've never seen him before", the Star Wars legend said.

The actor punctuated the video with a devious grin.

The team also tried two new bowlers in Murugan Ashwin and Hardus Viljoen, both of whom picked up two wickets each. However, Krunal Pandya drew first blood for Mumbai, dismissing the risky looking Gayle in the eighth over.

It's unclear if there will be any sort of live-action work for Mark Hamill, seeing as how in the original films Chucky was a serial killer who moved his soul into a doll through voodoo.

Mark has many voice acting credits to his name, most notably playing the role of The Joker during Batman: The Animated Series' three-year run in the early 90s. Plus, he's joining an admittedly stacked cast that already includes a pair of bonafide scene-stealers in Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry. The screenplay comes from Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2). Lars Klevberg, who previously helmed the horror flick Polaroid (which still hasn't been released), is in the director's chair.
