Holzhauer survived his biggest sweat on the show to this point, when the 34-year-old Las Vegas sports bettor held off Adam Levin, a sports information director from MA, in a tight match that went down to Final Jeopardy! on Monday's episode.

James Holzhauer just won his 18th game Monday night.

What is an 18-day winning streak? Each wrote: "Chamber of Commerce". He total haul is $1,329,604. Levin, a 46-year-old spokesperson for the athletic department of Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, trailed Holzhauer by $6,517 heading into Final Jeopardy!

That wasn't the case on Monday.

"Welcome to the James Holzhauer Show", Jeopardy host Alex Trebek joked at the start of the show, but fellow contestant Adam Levin from MA proved to be the ideal foil to Holzhauer's winning streak.

The Las Vegas resident is using the "Forrest Bounce" technique to win his way through "Jeopardy!"

After the first round, Holzhauer was in second place, down $200 from first place, and Trebek said it was the first game in a long time to not be a runaway win for Holzhauer. Previous contestants like Arthur Chu and Chuck Forrest (who the method is named after) have used it to both confuse opponents and rack up the most amount of money in a short span of time by starting from the bottom of each category, where the clues are hardest.

"Welcome, everyone, to the James Holzhauer show", longtime host Alex Trebek joked at the beginning of the episode.
