Wilson, 30, is entering the final year of a four-year, $87.6 million contract signed July 31, 2015, and he is scheduled to earn a base salary of $17 million in the 2019 season.

The quarterback, who is entering his eighth season, gave Seattle an April 15 deadline to complete negotiations on a new deal, according to a report from the Seattle Times.

While the Seahawks tend to finalize contracts the summer before the season begins, Wilson wants to move up the timeline to remove the distractions of contract talks like the ones he endured before signing his contract in 2015.

Russell Wilson wants to get paid NOW!

Per the report, the Seahawks and Wilson's side have been negotiating recently, with Wilson eager to get something done.

The NFL offseason is in full swing and one of the more intriguing contract situations belongs to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, the highest paid quarterback in the National Football League, makes a reported $33.5 million a year, with Wilson trailing as the 12th highest-paid, according to the Times.

Wilson has been with the team since 2012, and led the team to a win in Super Bowl XLVIII in February 2014.

The six-time Pro Bowl player might be taking this down to the wire, again, but he expects a big pay day. Wilson has a career 64.2 regular-season completion rate with 25,624 yards and 196 touchdowns.
