Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne arrested for drink driving

Sri Lanka Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne has been charged with drink-driving after a crash in the country's capital Colombo on Sunday. Though the victim sustained minor injuries the cricketer was apparently under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred.

Karunaratne has been granted bail, having been taken into custody at roughly 5:40am Sri Lanka time on Sunday in the Borella neighbourhood.

But in the run-up to the World Cup, Sri Lanka has displayed a mock situation where it has picked as many as 84 players some of whom are half baked schoolboys from which the "best 15" will be sent to England to contest the most prized event in worldwide cricket.

Johnny Manziel Suffers Head Injury, Leaves AAF Game vs. Apollos
It appears Manziel sustained a concussion, but nothing has been confirmed at this point. It looks like "comeback szn" may have to be put on hold.

The right-handed batsman led his side to a stunning 2-0 Test series win in South Africa in February this year, the first ever by an Asian nation on Proteas soil. Sri Lanka Cricket is likely to await further details, but may impose its own sanctions, depending on the outcome of court proceedings.

The result meant that despite last playing an ODI in 2015, there have been speculations of him being appointed captain for Sri Lanka's World Cup campaign as well.
