Disney released a new teaser for the forthcoming film at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago on Friday.

Fans welcomed the re-appearance of Lando Calrissian, played by Billy Dee Williams, who is seen piloting the Millennium Falcon. Expect a Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order trailer, gameplay, release date, and even information surrounding its story.

Lucasfilm, director J.J. Abrams, and returning stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Kelly Marie Tran. The focus is firmly on Daisy Ridley's Rey, lightsaber by her side, as she executes a gravity-defying move against what appears to be Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer. The Rise of Skywalker may have the most troubling connotations for this theory, which is one I'm sure you're all familiar with: that Rey is a lost Skywalker, either by Luke, Leia, or some other far-flung relative. The biggest question however, rises in the trailer's final moments as a sinister and terrifying laugh surfaced that sounded an bad lot like Emperor Palpatine's. When asked what it was like playing the character again after so much time had passed, Williams remarked that it was easy.

With around six to eight months until launch, don't be surprised if Respawn show us a bit more than just a pre-rendered trailer flanked by a few pretty concept sketches. In fact, Star Wars has taught us that when a Force-sensitive person dies, they become one with the Force and their power grows, à la Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original trilogy.

Director J.J. Abrams, unsurprisingly, isn't revealing anything that might risk "breaching the agreement that we have to preserve the fun for fans", he says. "She was the greatest", Abrams said of the late actress. "Which was to take eight films and give an ending to three trilogies, and so we had to look at, what is the bigger story?" The movie has been shrouded in mystery, but we've finally gotten a glimpse at what's ahead.

"No one is ever really gone", says the voice of Luke Skywalker in the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX, that will feature the return of the evil emperor Palpatine to threaten the young heroine Rey and the Resistance.
