A hospital official loads a dead body of a plane crash victim into an ambulance outside the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu Nepal Sunday

Aviation Safety Network (ASN) database in its preliminary report stated that there were no passengers in the aircraft but recorded that the co-pilot and two police officials standing on the ground died of fatal injuries, and the four injured are now receiving treatment at Kathmandu's Grande Hospital.

Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Pratap Babu Tiwari said that S Dhungana, co-pilot of the plane, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ram Bahadur Khadka, who was stationed at the helipad, were killed in the incident. Unidentified officials said Assistant Sub-Inspector Rudra Bahadur Shrestha succumbed to his injuries while being treated in Kathmandu.

Lukla airport, also known as Tenzing-Hillary airport, is the gateway to Mt Everest.

Chhetri said the plane skidded off the runway, hitting a helicopter belonging to Manang Air.

Both aircrafts are private airline companies that cater to tourists and Nepalese in the country's remote areas. The authorities suspended services at Tenzing Hillary Airport following the crash. The dead included a pilot of the plane and two police officers who were near the parked helicopter.

Rays ride 5-game win streak into matchup with Blue Jays
According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 64% of the betting tickets are on the Rays to beat the Blue Jays on the moneyline. Toronto didn't get its first base-runner until the fourth inning when Chirinos issued a lead-off walk to Randal Grichuk .

The airport, built in 1964, is rated as one of the most risky airports in the world due to strong tailwinds and a short runway.

Sitting at an elevation of 2,845 metres, it is used by thousands of trekkers and climbers heading for the Everest region each year.

However, Nepal airspace has a poor safety record and maintenance woes.

In February a helicopter carrying seven people including the country's tourism minister crashed in bad weather in eastern Nepal, killing seven all on board.
