Due to this more cautious approach, the availability of Windows 10 version 1809 improved slowly, so in January this year, Microsoft released it via Windows Update to all users who manually searched for updates.

"If Microsoft sticks to its Windows 10 feature rollout pace, the company could begin rolling 1903 (aka, the April 2019 update) to mainstream consumer customers in April, 2019", it said.

Microsoft has yet to release the second March cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1809; it released cumulative updates for all other supported versions of Windows 10 already.

This is a new milestone in the troubled history of this major release, as Microsoft had to pause its public rollout after discovering a serious file deletion bug in October.

"After updating to Windows 10, version 1809, audio playback from a monitor or television connected to a PC via HDMI, USB-C, or a DisplayPort may not function correctly on devices with these drivers".

Microsoft promised quality improvements to Windows 10 updates and vowed to communicate more clearly with users and businesses.

And now that the youngster has returned back to action, most people are wondering when they will see him out on the pitch. And with a number of stars on their way back it could provide that welcome boost that could see them over the line.

The October update was originally released on October 2 past year, but it was then pulled only a few days later due to issues potentially causing the removal of user files stored in libraries. Microsoft says Windows Update DNS outage is fixed and things should return to normal for all customers soon.

Microsoft reiterated that it wants to align the way it talks about Windows 10 and Office 365 servicing.

Almost four years after the launch of Windows 10, the shift to "Windows as a service" has been a mostly positive changes, with Microsoft providing free feature updates to all users in the Spring and Fall seasons.

"Intel inadvertently released versions of its display driver (versions 24.20.100.6344, 24.20.100.6345) to OEMs that accidentally turned on unsupported features in Windows". A release in April 2019 seems the most likely scenario at this point in time.
