The Twitch extension will launch on 1st May for the game's live reveal even in LA, offering up the opportuity to bag some early loot that you'll be able to use when Borderlands 3 launches on 13th September for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Gearbox are now one such company as they have announced the "ECHOcast" to be used for the upcoming Borderlands 3.

2K Games and Gearbox Software are partnering up with Twitch to bring people an official Borderlands 3 Twitch extension. Once the ECHOcast toggle button appears on the left-hand side of the video player, one can expand the menu and start their gameplay reveal experience by exploring a streamer's Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter profile, inventory, and skill tree.

However, as BuzzFeed News reported in February of this year, the entire feature was simply a hastily thrown together PR play. It will supposedly launch in under two seconds, and is less than 30MB, which is around 70MB less than the current iteration.

This will allow players to "look through [their] favorite streamer's loadout, explore the contents of their backpack, and even poke around their skill tree".

After signing up for a Borderlands 3 SHiFT account and a Twitch account, you can begin the process of linking them together. You can also link the two accounts through the Gearbox SHiFT site. We also see how the UI (user interface) looks in-game, and oh, what the chests housing all them loot looks like too. Once a streamer has found one, you opt-in on the discovery, at which point a random victor will be chosen to walk away with a prize.

With your SHiFT and Twitch accounts linked, you will now be ready for everything Borderlands 3 has to offer. While the item will be identical to that found within the chest, it will be scaled to the player's current in-game level.
