If you blinked late Monday morning, you may have missed Reuben Foster's first season with the Redskins. Head coach Jay Gruden, team president Bruce Allen, and defensive coordinator Greg Manusky all gathered around Foster as he was tended to be by the training staff. His left leg was stabilized before he was carted off. Foster was released by the 49ers after a domestic violence arrest in November, and was claimed a few days later in a move that was widely panned - including by rival teams.

While no official statement has been made, team reporters on the scene said trainers were looking at Foster's left leg as the linebacker was sobbing in pain. Prosecutors there decided in January not to pursue a case against the 25-year-old, dismissing the first-degree misdemeanour battery charge. The Redskins are now awaiting the results of Foster's knee MRI.

"We've had some bad luck over here for the last couple years, but this one here takes the cake because this was a noncontact drill and there was really no contact involved in it, " Gruden said.

The 49ers brought in former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kwon Alexander to replace foster on defense.
