Remy Ma was taken into custody in her native New York City Wednesday after turning herself into authorities amid reality star Brittney Taylor's claims the music artist assaulted her at a benefit show last month.

Now, Remy's lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein tells the same outlet that 'I have been notified as to what Remy's charges are and as I understand them, they are assault in the 3rd degree misdemeanor, aggravated harassment in the 2nd degree and harassment in the 2nd degree'. She said the attack occurred after she and Ma had "exchanged words" in the green room of a benefit concert held at Irving Plaza near Union Square at around 9:30 p.m. that evening.

Taylor, who is also a rapper, reportedly suffered bruises from the incident.

Taylor has since hired attorney Sanford Rubenstein who requested that the police department preserve all the evidence involved in the case including video footage.

In the days after the assault, Brittney allegedly went to the hospital before finally reporting her.

"So, here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it's hard to even focus because of what occurred last night", she wrote, Billboard states". I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn't work.

Medicare for All bill gets first hearing on Capitol Hill
Medicare for All is estimated to have a hefty pricetag. "It's a conversation that the country needs to have right now". The hearing was a victory for Jayapal, who launched a House Medicare for All Caucus last summer along with Rep.

Calling out the Bronx rapper directly, Taylor's Instagram caption concludes with, "My question is @remyma why did you really do this?"

The video has since been removed.

Ma was released in August 2014, but still now remains on parole, according to state records obtained by the New York Daily News.

In 2008, the rapper was sentenced to prison at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women for eight years, but actually only spent six years behind bars after being convicted of illegal weapon possession, assault and attempted coercion. She has since revitalized her career and has embarked on several business ventures.

Almost five years after being released from prison, Remy Ma reportedly finds herself in police custody once again.

The story is still developing.
