'Retired' Marshawn Lynch already weighing Raiders and National Football League return

Oakland Raiders running back Isaiah Crowell will miss the 2019 season

Oakland Raiders running back Isaiah Crowell will miss the 2019 season

He signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Raiders in March and was insurance in case they didn't draft a running back last weekend.

A 2017 study of 95 National Football League players who'd suffered torn Achilles found the average recovery time was just over 11 months, but that 24 were unable to return to the NFL.

The 26-year-old Crowell played his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns and spent last season with the New York Jets. In 21 games with the Raiders over the past two seasons, Lynch rushed for 1,267 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Toni Braxton's Niece Lauren Braxton Dead at 24
Friends and family have flooded Lauren's Instagram page , which was full of family photos and messages. The niece of award-winning RnB singer Toni Braxton has been found dead inside her home in Maryland.

An injury to veteran Isaiah Crowell wipes out some of the Raiders backfield depth chart. Crowell should still draw interest from teams next offseason, but has a long road back.

It's not clear, though, if the Raiders want him. After retiring following the 2015 season, he got lured back into the National Football League in 2017, citing the chance to play for his hometown Raiders as a big reason.

If Lynch were to return, it would make for an awesome story with the Raiders likely entering their final season in Oakland.
