Arsenal ‘face transfer battle’ to keep Lucas Torreira

Arsenal midfielder Torreira unhappy in London: Where's the sun?

And Torreira has done little to quash the speculation he could be keen on a move away from Arsenal after just a year with the club.

While the 23-year-old's apparent struggles with English life are clear, the midfielder did go on the admit that he was willing to continue fighting and learning to adjust to the country and language.

The Uruguayan joined the Gunners last summer for £26m from Serie A side Sampdoria but his latest comments have prompted talk of a swift return to the Italian top flight.

However, after an initially bright start, the 23-year-old faded somewhat in the second half of the campaign - particularly as Arsenal's own Champions League aspirations went up in smoke.

"I don't know if there are many things that I enjoy", he said, as reported by the Mirror.

Why Amanda Knox returned to Italy years after her harrowing murder case
Her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito was also convicted of murder. "Amanda Knox is returning to Italy for closure. Knox , Sollecito and another man, Rudy Hermann Guede, from the Ivory Coast, were accused of her murder.

I believe there are good reasons to be positive ahead of the new season and while I accept that a lot of my fellow Gooners will disagree with me I hope that they will see the reasoning behind my confidence. Make no mistake, the English game does need adjusting to, it is far more intense than any other league and very few players adapt quickly and that includes some world class players.

The language [barrier] has stopped me being able to relate with my team-mates and with the people. "It is very hard when you can't dialogue with anyone".

"And so is the climate". You arrive late to your home and it's cloudy. Mostly us South Americans are used to having sunny days. "But as the years pass, I'm going to be adapting". Guendouzi will be a far better and more effective player next season, of that I am absolutely convinced.

Torreira impressed all with his first season in the Premier League, though admits he felt more comfortable at Sampdoria.

The talented young midfielder is now preparing for the Copa America with Uruguay but still found time to speak about his first year on English soil.
