Real Madrid to sign Eden Hazard after agreeing a fee with Chelsea

Eden Hazard is heading to Real Madrid.

With Chelsea accepting the player has chose to leave the club, they have reached an agreement that they feel should ensure they collect a large portion of add-ons, with the targets Hazard and Real Madrid will need to reach for the clauses in the contract to be activated believed to be well within reach for the club and their new star signing.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga believes that his Belgian teammate Eden Hazard is as good as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Having informed Hazard of the developments, his agents this afternoon arrived at the Belgian Football Centre in Tubize, central Belgium, where the 28-year-old is on global duty preparing for the Diables Rouges' upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against against Kazakhstan and Scotland.

The Belgium worldwide had been expected to join the Spanish side after indicating he would leave the club following the Europa League win over Arsenal, saying, "I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know".

Throughout the 2019/20 season, as it became increasingly clear that the end for him in London was near, he remained determined to focus on the job at hand of returning Chelsea to the Champions League with a top four finish and lifting silverware before leaving Stamford Bridge.

This information has put sent all Real Madrid fans into overdrive, as for months the arrival of the Chelsea star has been rumoured, with Zinedine Zidane publicly praising him on more than one occasion and all sorts of comments by the player himself and those around him confirming an exit. At that point Real and Chelsea had not agreed on a fee but on Wednesday night they did with the announcement set to follow in the next few days. Real Madrid also recently struck a deal for Lyon left back Ferland Mendy for a reported $56.3 million, per Marca, in what is in line to be a monumental summer transfer window for Los Merengues.

An appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) could see the ban delayed or even overturned, but for now there will be no new faces coming through the door.

Losing Hazard is a blow for the Premier League and Chelsea, and for Real Madrid it's the first piece of the jigsaw in a much-needed rebuild under Zidane.
