Disney World Raising Annual Pass Prices Ahead of Galaxy's Edge Opening

Turns out that visiting a galaxy far, far away will hit closer to everyone's wallets.

On the same day that 2020 vacation packages for Walt Disney World were released, an increase in WDW Annual Pass prices took place as well.

The cost of the Platinum Plus pass increased by $225 to $1,219 and the Disney Platinum pass increased by $225 to $1,119.

A model shows what Galaxy's Edge - Star Wars land - will look like when it opens at Disney's Hollywood Studios in late summer 2019.

The Gold Pass is now $699, up from $609.

The higher tiered annual passes also see hefty increase, with the Platinum Pass now costing $899, up from $748. The Platinum Pass for out-of-state now costs $1,119, while the Platinum Plus Pass has increased to $1,219.

Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Premier Annual Passholders will be among the first to experience Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, with special preview opportunities planned before the land's opening on August 29. We have our first answer - Passholder Previews.
