Dota Underlords is Valve’s Auto Chess, and the beta is out now

This particular mod for Dota 2 is one of the most popular addons in a while; reminiscent of the original Dota mod for Warcraft 3. At times, those developers get lucky and get hired by the original owners to work on an official version. With the mod gaining so much popularity, it was only a matter of time until it became its own thing.

A little less than a month after Valve chose to make a stand-alone version of the explosively-popular Dota Auto Chess mode, Dota Underlords has just been released in closed beta for owners of The International 2019 Battle Pass.

In other words, it's totally Auto Chess. It has nothing to do with chess and only superficially related to Dota.

So basically, you purchase heroes and pit them against each other in automated battles in which combos, counters, and synergies rule the day. Soon hits today, as Valve has officially unveiled Dota Underlords, a special standalone version of Dota 2 Auto Chess.

Keanu Reeves doesn’t know that he is an internet sensation
Most recently, fans dubbed Reeves a "respectful king" after realising that he doesn't touch women when posing for photos . Keanu Reeves is simultaneously working on several cinema films. "That's, uh, that's wacky", Reeves acknowledged.

Valve has described Dota Underlords as a stand-alone game where you'll face off against seven players in a battle of wits.

In its current form, Underlords supports online play against seven other players, offline play against AI bots at a variety of difficulty levels, and party play. This will also enable ranked matchmaking and both crossplay and cross-progression across all platforms. And if you'd rather wait, you won't have to wait long: Valve said the Dota Underlords open beta will begin in about a week.

Dota Underlords has actually been in a very limited beta for a few weeks but is now open to all Dota Battle Pass owners. Hopefully, this will do better than Artifact.
