According to a report from The Sun, Chelsea are set to hand Brazilian global Willian a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the club till the summer of 2021.

Considering that Chelsea have already lost Eden Hazard to Barcelona's rivals Real Madrid in the ongoing transfer window, they could ill afford to let go of Willian as well, more so considering that they have been hit with a two-window transfer ban by Federation Internationale de Football Association that prohibits them from signing new players.

At the last count, the likes of Javi Gracia and Nuno Espirito Santo have been linked with the Chelsea managerial job, but Cech is backing Lampard for the role.

Former Blues midfielder Lampard is the odds-on favourite to replace the 60-year-old, having impressed in his first season as a manager by guiding Derby to the Championship play-off final.

Frank Lampard "will take over at Chelsea in the coming days after being assured of at least two years in the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge".

Derby are still braced for an approach from Chelsea, who are understood to want Lampard to replace Maurizio Sarri in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.

The Blues seems to have allowed their manager leave after being paid a sum of £7 million severance package by Juventus earlier this week.

Chelsea are keen to bring in Lampard, knowing that he is a hugely popular choice with a fanbase who were frustrated last season by Sarri's management despite winning the Europa League and finishing in the top four of the Premier League.
