Pasadena family upset after receiving graduation cake made of Styrofoam from Walmart

One person described it as "ridiculous" while another in disbelief said, 'This is what they gave you?' - in the clip that has drawn more than 113,000 views so far.

Turns out you can have your cake, but you can't always eat it, too.

Marsy Flores told KPRC 2 she purchased a cake from Walmart for her daughter's graduation party and was committed to making sure everything about the big day was flawless.

Her sister Nellie took a video as they attempted to cut it when and realized it wasn't cake, but Styrofoam underneath the frosting.

Woolworths was reported to have reached out to the couple and gave them a $50 gift card for the ordeal as an apology. The store responded to the mishap by giving the family a $60 gift card for the value of the cake.

On Facebook, aunt Nellie Flores raged that the peace offering was not enough for the "humiliation".

When Lea Nava received her high school diploma, she wasn't the only one beaming.

Lea added: 'It's mom's big day as well, it's not just mine'. I wanted it to be flawless. "They didn't have anything ready", Flores said in comments to Houston television station KPRC.

"They didn't have our order".

"I was in complete shock", Flores said.

'There was a small blue one, which is her school color, so I chose that one.

Flores called Walmart about the cake and was given a $60 gift card for her trouble. She also said they offered to put graduation decorations on the cake and her daughter's picture.

"I don't expect for them to make up for it because they can't", another woman said.

"Incident was result of misunderstanding", a spokesman said.

"They can't replace the moment that we lost", Flores said. The matter has been resolved. "The customer was given a gift card for her inconvenience", the company said in a statement.
