Murray, who followed Williams into press on Saturday, isn't playing singles at Wimbledon but is playing in the men's doubles draw alongside France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

The 32-year-old, twice a men's singles victor at Wimbledon, also plans to play mixed as he continues his recovery from hip-resurfacing surgery in February.

In facing Venus, she takes on a player 24 years her senior who has won seven Grand Slam singles titles, five at the All England Club.

The world number 301 became the youngest player to qualify for the main Wimbledon draw since the Open era began in 1968.

Asked if she was serious about playing mixed doubles with Murray, Williams said she enjoyed being "tongue in cheek" and suggested everything will depend on her fitness.

Having initially being positive about the prospect, the 37-year-old, who has been battling knee problems, went coy after she was pressed further on it. I like to be tongue-in-cheek.

Quoting a classmate who went on the trip, Kavanaugh said Fields was "elated and happy" when he made the statement. His sentence in the state case is due to be imposed July 15 , meaning Friday's sentencing in U.S.

"When I was walking back to my locker room from the court I saw Jose, and he just came up to me and hugged me".

"I mean, obviously she's arguably the best player ever", Murray said.

"If I'm going to play mixed, which is the plan, you obviously want to be playing with someone who's going to be there for the whole event, and they're in it to try to win matches and win the event. I appreciate with singles players that's not always going to be the case".

On the keys of his victor duo with Feliciano Lopez at the Queen's, Murray concluded: "No tennis player, or doubles partner, has everything and it's about being able to complement each other and work together around your strengths".

2018 finalist and 11th seed Serena starts her Wimbledon campaign against Giulia Gatto-Monticone, while Venus will meet with Cori Gauff.

"I was dealing with some bad injuries all year".

"I played here before back in the '90s", she said.

"Finally feel like I found some good results in Paris. Playing one of the greatest players of all time is a dream - I'm excited to see how I do".
