It seems like Ishaan Khatter is in awe of his elder brother Shahid Kapoor, as the actor heaped praises on his brother's ideal portrayal of a "damaged" character in 'Kabir Singh'. Shahid and Kiara's stellar acts have won several hearts and that's the reason the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box-office in just 5 days. If that was not enough, she questioned Shahid Kapoor by tweeting, "I find it baffling that "Big Stars" make these choices who actually lead by Example!"

However, despite Kabir Singh's success at the box office, the film's all three versions have drawn criticism for their depiction of toxic misogyny as the central character, a surgeon, descends into self-destruction and alcoholism following a heartbreak. While a lot of people have been going gaga over Shahid's performance in the film, many others have been slamming him for picking up such a "misogynistic" character.

Film trade analysts now believe that there is a strong possibility of Kabir Singh to emerge as the highest grossing film of 2019, surpassing Uri's lifetime business.
