In a statement to Local 4, Kroger said: "Like many retailers, we are offering our customers a highly-curated selection of topical products like lotions, balms, oils and creams that are infused with hemp-derived CBD".

The Kroger becoming part of the retail craze involving CBD.

Since then retailers have been targeting various ways to profit from the growing cannabidiol market. Hemp and marijuana both come from the cannabis plant family.

"There are a lot of people that use CBD to relax, and guess what, that's what a lot of people use movies for". "Texas will be a leader in hemp production, and we will be submitting our plan and writing rules to follow the 2018 Farm Bill and the law recently enacted in Texas".

Many believe CBD has healing properties, but it has no THC, which in marijuana creates a high.

The grocery chain's corporate affairs manager for its MI division, Rachel Hurst, said the company will begin the rollout this week in 17 states, according to The Detroit News.

The company says it will slowly introduce products.
