Democrat Pete Buttigieg is following up his first presidential debate with a big fundraising weekend in NY, including an event with a group that has contributed millions of dollars to openly LGBT candidates and says it's planning "a historic special announcement".

He came under fire for his record on race relations, specifically his failure to integrate the police force in South Bend - a city where more than 1 in 4 residents is African-American but only 6% of the police force is - and handling of an officer-involved shooting of a black resident. In response, Buttigieg addressed the fatal June 16 police shooting of 54-year-old Eric Logan. Would he show up to the debate, or would he stay in South Bend?

On Saturday, Buttigieg will hold a fundraiser that's been billed as a "birthday bash" for his husband, who turned 30 on Sunday.

Buttigieg has previously attacked President Trump for "hypocrisy" when it comes to Christianity and, while he was once cordial with Vice President Mike Pence, he has used his sexuality to take a swipe at the former IN governor. The officer said he was attacked with a knife, but he didn't have his body camera on. It's a mess. And we're hurting... "He fired the last chief, and so I'm wondering why wouldn't he fire this chief", Swalwell said.

The dispute has prompted the Federal Reserve to say it is willing to cut interest rates if the dispute hurts the USA economy. Capital One fell short after the Fed projected steeper losses on credit-card portfolios in a severely stressed scenario.

Buttigieg's campaign website says they are looking for a "Faith Engagement Director" to join the team.

Pete Buttigieg has been the early darling of the 2020 Democratic presidential contest.

IUSB alum Ben Fager said he supports Buttigieg for taking time off his campaign to try and do things right in South Bend.

Also participating in this debate were former vice-president Joe Biden, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
