This was a dream come true.

Sepp van den Berg is set to become the latest addition to Liverpool's Dutch camp at Anfield.

The Reds have picked up the highly rated van den Berg for an absolute song, reported the Guardian.

The youngster spoke about joining the' biggest club' in the world upon signing.

"Jurgen Klopp is a wonderful person, and this is one of the reasons behind his successes and why I transferred to Liverpool", the footballer said.

Bayern Munich and Ajax were also reportedly interested in signing Van den Berg, who has opted for a move to Anfield instead.

Despite his age, van den Berg comes across as a dominating figure at the back. Liverpool finalized the terms of a long-term contract with the defender after reaching an agreement with PEC Zwolle, a club in the Netherlands' Eredivisie.

Nevertheless, a defiant Stokes said: "That's what's made us so successful in the last four years". Their campaign is in shambles at the moment after losses to Sri Lanka and Australia .

Despite being over six foot tall, Van den Berg is known for his pace having trained as a winger in his youth.

The fee is reported to be in the region of €1.5 million, which is truly a bargain in the current market conditions.

According to the Guardian, Klopp wants the defender to be involved with the first team next season.

When asked how he felt when Liverpool's interest was first made clear, he said: "I couldn't believe it, I thought it was a joke". Short-term, [my target is] to be with the first team, develop myself, grow into the team and see how it goes.

"The people who work here were really nice to me and everybody I met was really nice, so it gave me a good feeling - a family feeling, and that's very important for me".

On June 27, Liverpool confirmed the signing of Sepp van der Berg from PEC Zwolle. He made his debut for Swolle at 16, becoming the youngest player to ever appear in a game for the club.
