The new Mac Pro isn’t even here yet but Logic Pro X is ready

After refreshing its MacBook Pro lineup earlier this month, Apple appears to be readying the launch of new "portable" computers, according to registration of new Mac models in the Eurasian Economic Commission uncovered by MacRumors.

Today Apple released a new version of Logic Pro X, its professional music production software, with performance updates for all users and optimizations that take advantage of the groundbreaking power of the all-new Mac Pro. Additionally, Logic Pro X now supports 1,000 auxiliary channel strips, 1,000 external MIDI tracks and 12 sends per channel strip. Any producer equipped with the Mac Pro and Logic Pro X is straight flexin'.

The new Logic supports up to 1,000 audio tracks and 1,000 software instruments - meaning the opportunity for creativity is truly limitless.

The Mac Pro will also cost you an terrible lot of money, as Apple is aiming the desktop at production crews and serious creators - it's not a consumer product, which is why you'll find the spec and price to be far in excess of what you can afford (and what you probably need). Running on Apple's recently-announced desktop, Logic Pro X 10.4.5 can handle more processing threads and plug-ins than ever before.

Russia's 'most lovely poker star' electrocuted to death in bathroom
A card shark called Russia's sexiest poker player was tragically killed by what officials believe was a massive electrical shock. Reports suggest she suffered a fatal electric shock while using a hair dryer in the flat, where she lived with her parents.

The update is free to existing owners of Logic Pro X, or you can buy it for $199.99.

And Daniel Pemberton, composer for Black Mirror, Yesterday and Ocean's 8 said "I'm really excited to see the increased performance of Logic Pro X 10.4.5 along with the power, expandability and configurability of the new Mac Pro". Musicians will also be able to drag and drop multiple loops into their projects simultaneously, Apple says.

They've also redesigned the De-esser plugin for better control of sibilance and you can now send MIDI clock out individual ports with unique timing offset and plugin delay compensation.
