Lueck family’s goal: find MacKenzie, bring her home

Lueck has not been seen or heard from since she was dropped off in a Lyft at a mysterious address eight miles from her home in the middle of the night, straight off a flight from California a week ago.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- A University of Utah student who took a late-night Lyft ride from the airport last week has not been seen since, Salt Lake City police said. The Lyft driver told detectives that another person with a vehicle was waiting for her.

The family of a 23-year-old woman who disappeared on her way home from her grandmother's funeral is pleading for help finding her.

Last Thursday, Lueck's family reported her missing.

Lueck's route "contained no irregularities" and ended at the scheduled destination, said Lauren Alexander, a Lyft spokeswoman.

The police have not discovered anything at this point that would lead them to believe Lueck is in danger, Salt Lake City Police Sargeant Brandon Shearer told ABC News.

She has not been on social media, has missed classes and wasn't on a planned flight to Los Angeles on Sunday.

"She could be anywhere", Fine said.

Police are intensely searching for clues in Hatch Park in North Salt Lake.

"She threw a birthday party for her cat, so for her not to come home to her cat is not adding up", her friend Ashley Fine said in a Sunday news conference. "The university's dean of students has spoken with Mackenzie's family to offer support and to express the campus community's shared hope for her safe return". "However, because of the circumstances of the case, we want to make sure that she is all right", Doubt said.

Lueck, 23, has been missing for over a week after taking a Lyft ride-share.

"Kenzie, if you can hear this, we are all anxious and we are looking out for you 24/7", Stoner said. Investigators asked anyone that may have information pertaining to Leuck's locations call authorities at 801-799-3000.

"Mackenzie is 5'6" tall, 120 pounds with a slim/athletic build, medium length blonde hair and brown eyes.
