Magic Johnson Says He Implored Lakers to Complete Anthony Davis Trade

The Lakers have bet big on this move, and they will be hoping that the partnership of King LeBron and Anthony Davis will pay off immediately.

Common thought is Kyrie Irving will opt out of his contract with the Boston Celtics and join the Brooklyn Nets.

Yet, with the current construction of the Lakers roster, it's conceivable that Anthony could still play a significant role on a legitimate contender this upcoming season. Walker has indicated that he'd like to come to a long-term agreement with the only National Basketball Association team he's ever played for. Philadelphia likely can't keep all three, though Butler might be their top priority after he was their best player in the postseason.

"I think there's a chance they did not understand the timing of this deal", Botkin told Danny Kanell on Wednesday's "Kanell & Bell" podcast, referring to the notion that Davis would not have counted against the Lakers' books entering free agency had L.A. and New Orleans agreed to process their trade 30 days after the opening of the market.

"In a scenario where the Lakers get Davis to agree and find a taker for each of the three aforementioned players as part of a larger AD deal, Los Angeles would be looking at roughly $32MM in cap space", Chris Crouse of HoopsRumors relayed. Davis has the right to void the bonus.

Destiny 2 free-to-play model explained by Bungie
With Destiny 2 going free-to-play , Bungie has been reevaluating how it wants to release the expansions to its player base. While this is excellent news for fans who have not played the game yet, there's a catch.

But it sure doesn't sound as if the Lakers knew what they were doing.

Los Angeles will have difficulty filling out their roster this summer. They are keeping Kyle Kuzma, who makes just under $2 million next season, but that would only give them four players under contract - Davis, LeBron James, and the third max player would be the other.

But Wagner, Bonga and Jones have either positive or negative value.

You might have heard the Lakers still need to add players - many players - in 2019 National Basketball Association free agency.
