Guardiola wants Isco as David Silva's replacement

Manchester City star Silva, one of the club's greatest ever players, announced yesterday that he will leave the club at the end of his current contract which expires in 12 months' time. For me [Silva] has been the best player in the Premier League for a long period of time. Initially, City was talking about two years, but I made a decision to sign [for] another one, so I finished at 10 years. It's a nice round figure. So 10 years - that's it.

Last season he only scored three goals in 11 La Liga starts.

The squad lead by Pep Guardiola is considering the option of signing the 27-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Isco, Marca reported.

Silva said on Tuesday that he will leave the English champions at the end of the 2019-20 season, bringing the curtains down on a 10-year spell at the club he joined in 2010 from Valencia. Pep Guardiola has identified Real Madrid playmaker Isco Alarcon as an ideal replacement to the leaving Spaniard.

Could a gut bacterium boost athletic performance?
Then, in an experiment involving only mice, the researchers colonized a strain of Veillonella collected from one of the athletes. He added that this would "therefore protect them against chronic diseases including diabetes", heart disease and an early grave.

The publication revealed that the arrival of Eden Hazard at the Santiago Bernabeu makes the midfielder's case more worse.

Real's stance could see the Citizens swoop for Isco once they wrap up the signing of Rodri from Atletico Madrid, with Guardiola already planning for life without the mercurial Silva at the club.

Madrid are desperate to sell players so as to raise funds to bid for Manchester United's Paul Pogba and have priced Isco at €80m (£71.5m).

Spain worldwide Rodri has been strongly linked with City in recent weeks since he reportedly told Atletico he intends to leave the club during the close-season.
