Man Utd chiefs confident Longstaff would jump at move

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United have completed the signing of Daniel James from Swansea City as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer begins process to bolster his squad for next season.

Longstaff emerged as a target earlier this month and although the 21-year-old appeared to pledge his future to his boyhood club recently, the Mirror claim Man Utd remain confident they can lure the midfielder to Old Trafford.

Longstaff, who is presently recovering from a knee ligament damage, made his breakthrough with the Magpies last term where he registered 16 appearances while scoring on one occasion.

"I'm massively flattered to have my name even mentioned in those conversations but like I said, I'm 100 per-cent focused on Newcastle and trying to get fit and get back in the team here". I want to get fit and be in for a whole season'.

Capitals trade Niskanen to Flyers for Gudas
Vrana, 23, scored 24 goals and 23 assists in 82 games last season for the Capitals. "Matt is a consummate professional and was a big part of our success".

Now, they are being heavily linked with Newcastle's Sean Longstaff, and the latest report suggests Man United are "confident" of signing the player.

Billionaire Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan is in negotiations to buy the club from Mike Ashley, while the future of manager Rafael Benitez is up in the air with his contract expiring on June 30.

And according to the London Evening Standard, United have prepared an offer for the midfielder but they will not pursue a deal until they have dealt with the problems at right-back and centre-half.

Apart from Longstaff, United continue to be linked with Harry Maguire in central defence, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another Premier League player that the Red Devils have their eye on.
