Real recognizes real, and Simon Cowell, perhaps the most brutally honest judge on America's Got Talent, saw something unique and authentic in 11-year-old contestant Tyler Butler-Figueroa during the reality competition's third round of auditions.

Tyler Butler-Figueroa, who's from Raleigh, got a golden buzzer from Cowell after showing off his violin skills on stage.

The judges were wowed by the talent, forcing them to give him the golden buzzer - straight to the live shows.

Tyler Butler-Figueroa performed Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" on the violin.

"When I lost my hair I was really sad and embarrassed at the same time to go to school", Tyler explained.

"One day, we were out to dinner". Those feelings only worsened when the kids at school began to laugh at him for being different; he said that they would stay away from him and say his cancer "was contagious".

Male Student Used Gender Switching Snapchat Filter To Catch Sexual Predator
A college student from California used a Snapchat filter to disguise himself as a female and managed to catch a sexual predator . He posted the deceptive photo on Tinder, where 40-year-old Robert Davies , a San Mateo police officer, took the bait.

"I started playing the violin when I was seven and a half", said Tyler.

"You are an extraordinary young man, we hear too many stories about people being bullied but I can tell you one thing, most people are bullied because they are better than the people who bully them", Cowell said. He was just full of energy and happy. "I was like, "Oh my god, I got my son back".

Before his performance, Tyler told the judges that he nearly died after he was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of four, and was bullied because of the disease.

Tyler told the camera "When I play the violin, it helps me forget about all the bad stuff".

In May, Kodi Lee, a blind pianist and singer with autism, earned the first golden buzzer of the season for his triumphant performance of Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You".

America's Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
