"As concerned we are about the conditions experienced by migrants seeking asylum in the United States ... the regrettable use of Holocaust terminology to describe these contemporary concerns diminishes the evil intent of the Nazis to eradicate the Jewish people".

Holocaust scholar Deborah Lipstadt told Jewish Insider that AOC's use of "concentration camp" was "misplaced".

"How would you dress up DHS's mass separation of thousands children at the border from their parents?"

Republicans were outraged when Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) compared migrant detention centers to "concentration camps" on Tuesday, and now the party's congressional campaign committee is claiming that she and another Democrat are "minimizing" the Holocaust.

In response, Ocasio-Cortez accused Cheney of "co-opting the language of the oppressor" because she correctly described what happened to the Jewish people in the Holocaust.

"I think Congresswoman AOC needs to apologize", McCarthy said, referring to Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio-Cortez noted that migrant children were taken this week to the same concentration camps where people of Japanese ancestry were held in during World War II.

Shikhar Dhawan ruled out with thumb fracture, Rishabh Pant to replace him
The southpaw had scored a brilliant knock of 117 runs against Australia and is going to be missed dearly by the team. Scans then revealed hairline fracture, raising apprehensions that Dhawan might get ruled out of the tournament.

"AOC should ask Holocaust survivors and ex-GIs who liberated Dachau what that charnel House was like", Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the SWC's associate dean and director of global social action for the leading worldwide Jewish Human Rights NGO, told JNS.

Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., joined the condemnation, tweeting at Ocasio-Cortez, "do us all a favor and spend just a few minutes learning some actual history". The Holocaust did not begin with the murder of 6 million Jews. We have non-governmental organizations, NGOs, that are constantly providing double check on that, which we should.

"The fact that concentrations camps are now an institutionalized practice in the Home of the Free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it", she continued. "These policies echo the worst of Jewish history and the worst of American history". "Opening an impeachment inquiry is exactly what we must do when the President obstructs justice, advises witnesses to ignore legal subpoenas, & more", she continued.

"Not one dime should go to DHS for building these camps as they detain children & families".

Reports suggest these shelters include large centers with dormitory-like accommodations. Scholars draw a distinction between temporary measures instituted by authoritarian regimes and the permanent dehumanization and extermination of classes of people under the totalitarian Nazis.

"This week, children, immigrant children were moved to the same internment camps where the Japanese were held in, in the early, in the earlier 20th century and this is, um, this is not even about a crisis for, this is not just about the immigrant communities being held in concentration camps being a crisis". Edna Friedberg, a historian at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, made the point in a December essay. "We have an obligation to end them".

"At a time when our country needs dialogue more than ever, it is especially risky to exploit the memory of the Holocaust as a rhetorical cudgel". Many refuse to learn from that shame, but here we are today. "And we owe ourselves more than that".
