Mayor Kate Gallego personally apologized to the family on behalf in labeling the officers' actions as "completely inappropriate and clearly unprofessional".

She added: "As a mother myself, seeing these teenagers positioned in this kind of frightening divulge is beyond upsetting".

The video of Phoenix Police officers pulling their guns on a family during a confrontation over an alleged shoplifting incident has now gone viral. The Blast reports that "Team ROC has now offered to step in to provide legal support for the family, as well as call for the termination of the policers officers involved in the incident".

She apologised to the family and noted that the city would speed up the rollout of body-worn cameras so that every police precinct had them by August. But passersby recorded the encounter.

On Friday (June 14), Arizona's ABC15 obtained a copy of Officer Meyer's official police report, which was met with many conflicting and differing details between the officer's story and the video at large.

"If you look at the video pretty good I'm snatched out the vehicle and I fly back and that's when he grabs me out the auto".

Phoenix police told ABC15 that the officer who verbally and physically attacked Ames is on a "non-enforcement assignment". Then, the officer dragged him upright and punched him in the back, the claim said. The children are handed to a bystander and Ms Harper is arrested.

A $10 million legal claim was filed against the City of Phoenix that says police officers committed civil rights violations by pointing guns and profanely yelling commands at the father and pregnant mother of two young daughters because one of the children took a doll at a dollar store without paying for it.

In the video, Harper emotionally tells the officer that the baby could not walk and the ground was too hot to set her down.

The officer tried to rip Harper's infant from her arms, the claim stated.

Harper was holding her one-year-old child during the fracas and also told the officers that she was pregnant. "I, devour you, was timid by the language and the action of the officer", she said in a Facebook posting.

Since May 29, the 4-year-old has been having nightmares and is wetting the bed, and Ames, whose vehicle was impounded, has been limping and is without transportation to get to work, the claim stated.

Horne alleges that the incident violated the family's civil rights by committing battery, unlawfully imprisoning them and causing the parents and their kids emotional distress. The doll of discord was returned to the store.

The incident occurred in May. As the vehicle is fleeing, the auto stops. Hov has put one of his lawyers on the case.

When the officers arrived at the store to investigate, a clerk told them about an unrelated shoplifting incident that had just occurred and were directed to three adults and two young children getting into a vehicle in the parking lot, Williams said.

The Phoenix mayor also said that they would be hosting a community meeting with Police Chief Jeri Williams to answer citizen concerns about how the police department handled the incident.
