While having a triple rear camera on a smartphone is getting common, even for mid-range tier devices, the current holder for the most cameras is the Nokia 9 PureView with five camera sensors. In the case of Sony, the Japanese corporation's mobile division is reportedly working on an Xperia smartphone with a six-camera configuration.

It is obvious from the leaked image that the purported Sony Xperia phone will come fitted with an in-display fingerprint scanner, while the report says it will get a twin front camera - presumably a primary sensor accompanied by a wide-angle camera. The report also reveals the back camera sensor of the device and these renders are just a mock-up which we can not trust on completely. The device will be housing two selfie cameras on the front and these are expected to be used for taking selfies with and others for making video calls.

It can be presumed that the sextet camera module would feature a super-wide angle camera with the alternative of a telephoto camera, along with a Time-of-Flight sensor, and possibly two monochrome sensors for enhancement of photos captured in low light. It was powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC and runs on the latest Android 9.0 out of the box. What are your views on this upcoming device from Sony?
