An animated Spice Girls movie is in the works at Paramount.

Geri Halliwell (Ginger), and Victoria Beckham (Posh) are returning to spice up our lives with a Spice Girls movie that will include some brand-new Spice Girls songs, as well as a few classics.

"They are very involved", the president of Paramount Animation told the paper, adding they "had an idea [they'd] been developing" the film. All five Girls will voice their characters...yes, even Victoria Beckham.

The Spice Girls first formed in 1994 and became the embodiment of girl power during the 1990s. According to Variety, the film will feature the girl group as superheroes with a "girl power" message.

We hear the production will be produced by Spice Girls' boss Simon Fuller, and written by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith who did the screenplay for Legally Blonde.

The film is in early development and will be part of Paramount's fast-moving slate of animated films, of which two will be released every year, starting in 2020.

The English pop group is the best-selling girl group of all time with over 85 million albums sold.

The group is now on its Spice World reunion tour sans Beckham, who has chosen to focus on her successful fashion line.

The animated feature will be the second Spice Girls movie, following 1997's "Spice World" - a hit at the box office but not with critics.
