A Mariah Carey fan was surprised with this unusual cake

Twitter user Harriet Alida Lye took to her social media page to post the hilarious image of a cake her cousin in the United Kingdom got when she told colleagues she wanted a Mariah Carey cake for her birthday. A not-so-common mix-up, but one that saw quite the birthday blunder.

"My cousin in England told her colleagues she wanted a Mariah Carey birthday cake".

"They misunderstood, and [this] is the cake they made her instead", Lye wrote. Marie Curie discovered radium and polonium and was the first female victor of a Nobel prize.

People are loving the mix-up on Twitter, and are even sharing their own bakery mishap stories. "This could've been me if only I hadn't failed remedial math", the singer joked.

Siobhan told her colleagues she was hoping to get a Mariah Carey-themed cake for her upcoming birthday, reports The Mirror, only there was clearly a bit of a misunderstanding.

No word yet on whether Siobhan received a replacement cake. "Well if that's what she wants'".

A fourth added: "With apologies, this is so much better than a Mariah Carey cake".
