Atlanta has agreed to send Kent Bazemore to Portland in exchange for Evan Turner, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources.

Hawks general manager and head of basketball operations Travis Schlenk released a statement on the trade, thanking Bazemore for his contributions in Atlanta and praising Turner's versatility on the court.

The Hawks, meanwhile, get a veteran that is better suited to playing the three, a spot they're looking at having two rookies in right now, and will still have plenty of cap flexibility for the summer of 2020 since Turner is an expiring. Turner, meanwhile, will be making about the same amount in the past year of his contract.

Turner averaged 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists while playing nearly exclusively as a reserve.

Manchester United's void in midfield is growing after the departure of Ander Herrera and possible exit of Paul Pogba this summer. His exploits in the Portuguese top-flight also gained him the league's CNID Footballer of the Year award.

Turner, 30, appeared in 73 games for the Blazers last season, averaging 6.8 points on.460 shooting, 4.5 boards and 3.9 assists over 22.0 minutes a night.

The 29-year-old has also played for the Warriors and Lakers over his seven-year career. His 3-point percentage dipped from a career-high 39.4 percent on more than four attempts per game in 2017-18 to 32 percent this past season, and he lost his starting job to the youth movement in early March.

Wojnarowski added that Bazemore provides "an insurance policy on free agent Rodney Hood" for the Blazers.
