Trump claims victory on Mexican migration

During an interview with Fox and Friends Monday morning, White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway argued Democrats are doing less than Mexican officials to take action. As a part of the agreement, Mexico not only allows those returned from the U.S. to stay in Mexico but also must offer them work permits, health care and education, the CBS report says.

U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated he may place new tariffs on French wine to help bolster the position of U.S. winemakers.

Mexican officials on Monday denied any such side agreement on controlling migrants.

President Trump is a man who claims many things.

President Trump announced Monday that his administration has inked a secret agreement with Mexico on immigration enforcement that will be unveiled in the "not too distant future".

President Donald Trump went on attack Sunday morning, claiming that the "failing" New York Times and "ratings challenged" CNN wants to see the USA fail.

"I don't know exactly what he's talking about", said Juan Carlos Hidalgo, a Latin America analyst at the Cato Institute.

Mexico, however, had already meant to do that before Trump's latest threat and had made that clear to USA officials.

Trump, who has called the surge in migrants an "invasion", had threatened to keep raising tariffs against Mexico up to 25% unless Lopez Obrador's government satisfied his demands. The president said that he doesn't expect the latter to be "a problem" but would reinstate tariffs if necessary.

Mexico has been insistent that it has not agreed to the provision, which would require approval from local lawmakers.

In a thrilling match yesterday, India beat Australia by 36 runs to win their second match at the 2019 ICC World cup tournament. Steve Smith , who was involved in a ball-tampering episode a year ago , had to witness these unpleasant chants.

"If you feed a bully, the bully is going to come back again", Hidalgo told VOA. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, chastised Trump for using tariffs as a threat and operating a "trade policy based on tweets".

Faced with a surge of Central American immigrants fleeing poverty and gang violence, Trump had already declared a national emergency in an effort to build his promised border wall with Mexico, and had also a couple of times threatened to shut the frontier before mooting the tariffs.

Mexico, however, has long opposed the safe country idea and Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Friday after a deal was reached that Mexico had resisted.

Mr Ebrard said the United States side also wanted to designate Mexico as a "safe third country", which would have required Mexico to take in asylum seekers heading for the U.S. and process their claims on its own soil.

But the deal announced last Friday made no mention of that issue.

Trump reignited the pressure three days after granting a reprieve from tariffs that he had threatened to apply from this week to force the major USA trading partner to boost measures against illegal immigrants trying to enter the United States.

"We are your most important market and you are our most important market".

The comment came as he fended off criticism over a New York Times report that said the key terms of the migration deal had in fact been agreed on months ago. But calling Trump a liar would open up a whole new can of worms.

US President Trump wants to curb the massive flow of illegal migrants originating mostly from three Central American countries.
