There have been plenty of candidates linked with taking up the managerial position at Chelsea but former England global Frank Lampard is the favorite to succeed Sarri.

Willian, who played with Lampard during the 2013/14 season for the Blues, believes that his appointment will be successful for the club.

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm hoping this guy is going to manage us next season", Morris told talkSPORT (via BBC Sport).

Ogden stated that the transfer ban would give Chelsea an even more hard task, "I think with Frank it's a job that he will accept, It's a formality that he's going to take the job and he couldn't turn it down".

"He was a great player, and he is a great person".

But the former England midfielder only has a year of managerial experience under his belt after he took over the reins of Derby last summer.

Lampard won the Premier League three times, the FA Cup four times, and the League Cup twice as well as the Champions League and the Europa League during a distinguished career at Stamford Bridge.

The former England worldwide also remains the club's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals.

'He is a legend, ' Willian added.

'He deserves so much respect and backing for what he has already achieved at the club.

Now, it is highly likely that Chelsea will look to send the defender out on loan, and with Frank Lampard seeming set to take the helm at Stamford Bridge, it will be interesting to see if he puts conflicts aside and allows him to join Leeds - should they make a formal approach for him. "He was an extraordinary player for the club, winning every possible title".

But the Brazil worldwide is hopeful his former boss thrives on his return to Italy. "May God bless his career and his new chapter at Juventus".
