The West Indies' faltering World Cup campaign suffered a fresh blow on Monday as all-rounder Andre Russell was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament due to a knee injury.

Russell's place in the squad will be taken by 26-year-old Sunil Ambris, who has played six One-Day Internationals.

West Indies set to next face India on Thursday.

Russell, 31, entered the World Cup with a chronic knee injury which has gotten progressively worse with each game. He has a hundred and a half-century fifty to his name in the 50-over format.

In addition, it has two-way audio, so you can talk to a housemate or your pets through the app even when you're not home. The new SmartThings WiFi Smart Plug can turn almost every lamp, small appliance or electronic device in your home smart.

Russell was crowned player of the tournament in this season's IPL and got off to a flyer at the World Cup by taking 2-4 with the ball in a thumping seven-wicket win over Pakistan. He might be able to provide much-needed solidity in the middle order of the Windies batting line-up that has had a few mini collapses. Brathwaite nearly saved the day but was seen dropping to his knees in distress as the Kiwi players comforted him after he got out.

West Indies are now eighth on the table and have nearly no chance of qualifying for the semifinals. "It was a tough game at the very end, but I'm proud of the guys, especially Carlos, who had a good innings. It's pretty tough but there are still a lot of positives".

West Indies have won just one of their six matches, meaning they are unlikely to qualify for the semi-finals.
