Yemen's Houthi forces launched a missile strike on an airport in southern Saudi Arabia early on Wednesday which wounded 26 people, the Saudi-led military coalition said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Houthi rebel group claimed responsibility on targeting the Abha airport by a cruise missile, saying that the missile "hit the target accurately".

Bukhati said a cruise missile was used in the airport attack and claimed it was the second use of such a missile by the Houthis after the group deployed one a year ago to hit a nuclear power station being constructed in the United Arab Emirates.

He said at least one Indian was among three women wounded along with two Saudi children.

Speaking at Tokyo's Haneda Airport just before departing, Abe acknowledged "rising tensions" in the Middle East and said, "Japan wants to do as much as possible towards peace and stability in the region".

Flights were disrupted for several hours before returning to normal.

Dr. Mishaal Al-Sulami, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, considered the terrorist cowardly attack a war crime.

There was no immediate Iranian response. The U.S. has also blamed Iran for sabotaging tankers near the Persian Gulf using naval mines, a claim Tehran denies.

FedEx Express will not renew contract with Amazon
It's also launching a program that lets contractors start businesses delivering packages in vans bearing the Amazon smile logo. And whereas the ramifications are huge, FedEx might maybe maybe now not be beaten by its contract with Amazon ending.

The attack marks a "dangerous escalation" in the region, Bahrain's foreign minister said on Wednesday. "We wish those injured a speedy recovery".

A drone strike hit a Saudi Aramco facility hundreds of kilometers away from the Yemeni border last month, prompting the oil company to temporarily shut one of its key pipelines.

Mr Trump has been under pressure over relations with Saudi Arabia since the kingdom was accused of murdering dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi a year ago.

The UK submitted a draft resolution to the United Nation's Security Council on Monday condemning the oil facility attack. The kingdom said 26 people were hurt.

The latest attack comes a day after Riyadh said it intercepted two drones fired by the Houthis, who control a large part of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa.

A cruise missile is capable of clear recognition and can target civilians and civilian objects that are subject to special protection under worldwide humanitarian law.

In the past few weeks, rebels have also targeted an airport in the port city of Jizan and the city of Najran near the Yemen border.

The UN describes the Yemen conflict as the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with 24.1 million - more than two-thirds of the population - in need of aid.
