The Invisible Man Reboot Has Found Its, Uh, Invisible Man

The Invisible Man will begin production this month in Australia with a pretty excellent cast that includes Elisabeth Moss, Storm Reid, Aldis Hodge, and Harriet Dyer. The Tom Cruise-fronted The Mummy was meant to kick off a series of interconnected films based on the classic Universal monsters, but Dark Universe architects Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan were pushed aside and the whole plan was scuttled after The Mummy bombed with both audiences and critics. But the studio's new take of The Invisible Man is finally moving forward, with a new actor set for the title role.

Jackson-Cohen's credits also include the BBC drama Man in an Orange Shirt, NBC's event series Emerald City, the NBC series Dracula, and the ITV mini-series Mr. Selfridge. The filmmakers reportedly liked Jackson-Cohen's performance in the show, which helped him land his latest role.

The thriller will be written, directed and executive produced by Leigh Whannell, who wrote, directed and executive produced the 2018 sci-fi thriller "Upgrade", and who wrote and produced "Insidious: The Last Key".

Andrew Strauss emotional after England 'obliterate' Australia to reach World Cup final
England are through to their first World Cup final since 1992 after beating Australia by eight wickets at Edgbaston. Roy smashed his fourth consecutive fifty in the tournament, clobbering Smith for three sixes in a row.

While Johnny Depp was in line to lead the Dark Universe version of The Invisible Man, that iteration was scrapped. However, the failure of The Mummy has scuttled those plans. Even if The Invisible Man isn't part of a larger cinematic universe, that doesn't mean that franchise possibilities won't exist. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 13, 2020.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen has played opposite some major big screen talents like Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, but this will be his biggest role to date. Let us know in the comment section below!
