At a panel at Guardian Con last week (via PC Gamer), Gearbox revealed it has added a range of new features to Borderlands 3 to make multiplayer more accessible than its predecessors.

Play solo or join with friends to take on insane enemies, collect bazillions of guns and loads of loot, and save your home from the most ruthless cult leaders in the galaxy - the Calypso Twins. If you fancy finding out more about Borderlands 3 you should read Miguel's preview here. On Xbox One, for instance, Borderlands 3 will support the Xbox Adaptive Controller, which allows for different types of buttons, pads and sticks to be used in place of a traditional gamepad.

As much as everyone loved Borderlands 2, and fans would no doubt want just another game, Gearbox just can not help but improve their game. Via level-syncing and an expanded matchmaking tool players will be able to jump into groups seamlessly whilst playing. But while previously, disputes were settled in a strictly 1v1 affair, the new system will allow free-for-all dueling, letting all players duke it out in a 1v1v1v1 battle instead. Called ECHOcast, this extension requires players to link their Shift and Twitch accounts to work. If certain conditions are met Twitch viewers can spawn events in a streamer's game. There will be visual options for players who are affected by colour blindness, there will be auto-aim options, headbobs can be toggled, and there will be closed captioning included too.

EasyJet plane crashes at Amsterdam Airport Schiphzl - ‘Shuddering sound’
An EasyJet plane bound for London crashed into another aircraft on the tarmac at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport this morning. The KLM flight to Madrid departed almost three hours late, although it was not clear whether the same plane was used.

Chief of all these is the new ping system; very much of the rage at the moment, the video below shows how you'll be able to ping objects, enemies and positions and, naturally loot - and more - to communicate without using a mic.

Borderlands 3 details continue to trickle in as we approach its September 13 release date. While this system is used extremely frequently in Apex Legends and will no doubt be used extensively in Borderlands 3, there is already some issues I have with it.
