In a July 11 Instagram video the 26-year-old looked into the camera and preached fire.

Cardi B has fired back at producer Jermaine Dupri following his comments about today's female rappers.

"First of all, I rap about my pussy because she's my best friend ..." "When I did "Be Careful" people was talking mad sh*t in the beginning like, 'WTF is this?', this is not what I expected". The song's lyrics allude to husband Offset breaking her heart and allegedly cheating on her.

Cardi also mentioned various women rappers who don't necessarily rap about their anatomy, and how they receive very little mainstream support. "Ya'll don't be supporting them!" "So don't blame that shit on us when y'all not the ones that's supporting them". She then went on to list a number of other female rappers who would fit the bill of what Jermaine Dupri and other critics seem to be looking for, who focus on lyrics and messaging over turn-up anthems and twerking in hot trousers. In that interview, Dupri said that Da Brat "broke the mold for female rappers" and added, "since then, female rappers have been able to sustain and sell a lot of records - actually, more records than guys".

When asked his opinion about rap artists like Cardi, Nicki Minaj and self-proclaimed hot-girl Meghan Thee Stallion, Dupri was dismissive.

Talking to PEOPLE, he said: "I can't really say. I feel they're all rapping about the same thing", he said.

"WE NEED TO SPREAD LOVE TO ALL THE FEMALE RAPPERS OUT THERE DOING THEIR F--N THING AND NOT LET PEOPLE WHO DONT GIVE A F-K ABOUT MUSIC DISCREDIT US WHEN THERES SO MUCH OUT THERE TO APPRECIATE AND SPREAD TO THE WORLD", she wrote.

"As far as rap goes, I'm not getting who is the best rapper, I'm getting like, 'Ok, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, ' it's like ok, who's going to be the rapper?" he continued.

In a followup post, Cardi listed the names of a few ladies who have released creative and quality music without the sexual connotations Dupri referred to, including Rapsody, Tierra Whack, Chika and Kamaiyah. "Radio DJs play these girls", she said.
